Shorts for Wee Ones

Various directors

Once again we know that the biggest audiences for this year’s festival will be those for our collections of short films – and what better way to appeal to our youngest audience members than with another sparkling selection of animated tales?

This year our hunt for the most original new shorts from across the world has brought us stories from Japan, Russia, Australia, Germany, the United States and more…

We’ve found bouncing baby kangaroos, lightning-powered robot vacuum cleaners and a piano-playing octopus. In a Japanese bakery we came across dolphin-friendly baguettes and then in a village in the middle of the African plains we saw the dramatic impact of their first ever snowfall.

These colourful stories are a magical introduction to the cinema experience. All in English or dialogue free, these shorts will delight children aged 3+
