We hope you enjoy this international collection of short films, specially selected for our Discovery audience!  We've compiled a handy list of FAQ to help you with troubleshooting should anything not go as smoothly as you'd like it to.  

How do I watch it on my TV? Is there a Vimeo app for smart TVs?

Yes, there is and it's supported by the following devices. You can also visit Vimeo's help page here

  • Apple TV (4th generation and 5th generation/4K models running tvOS) - search for “Vimeo” in the App Store
  • Android TV devices (such as NVidia Shield TV, Sony TVs, Xiaomi Mi Box - search for “Vimeo” in the Google Play Store
  • Amazon Fire TV devices - search for “Vimeo” on the Amazon Fire TV device, or visit the app listing here.
  • Chromecast - Cast from the Vimeo Android or iOS mobile apps, learn more here.

The video is running slow and keeps stopping

  • You may just need to pause the video to allow it to buffer slightly - try that first. Vimeo videos are viewable in a variety of different qualities, ranging from 360p to 8K. In “Auto” mode, the Vimeo player switches between all available qualities to accommodate changes in the viewer’s Internet, processing speed, and player size - this is how we've set all our videos. How long do I have the rental for? 

  • You'll have access to your Discovery Shorts for 7 days from when you made the rental payment. You can watch them as many times as you like in that window! 

Can I buy a short / the entire package? 

  • Unfortunately not, you can only rent the films as part of Discovery Film Festival 2020.

I'm a teacher with an access code, but I'm having trouble using it.
