Films, activities, workshops, special events, filmmaking, guests, education, and fun for all aged 3 - 21 years.

Discovery is a unique chance you to see the best new films from around the world, from Africa to France, Sweden to New Zealand, made with young audiences in mind. Last year nearly 8000 young people enjoyed events at the DCA and our partner venues across Scotland.

This year's festival includes three weekends of films and activities for young people, families and children, plus anyone who enjoys animation, coming of age films, anime, short films and adventures in international and independent cinema. There will also be workshops and fun activities, as well as our Teen Screen Weekend. During weekdays of the festival, we will welcome thousands of school groups to special education screenings and industry guest for events including the Scottish Moving Image Education Conference.
