Shorts for Wee Ones Activites

Fun art activities using characters from the Shorts for Wee Ones films.

On the right of this page in the Resources box you will find a note about the Shorts for Wee Ones (SWO) suggested activites from our arts education team, as well as information on the films, and pictures to download to help with these activities at home or in the classroom.

In the Discover More box there are links where you can watch Machu Picchu and Bave Circus again online, and look at images from The Weatherman on the film's website, so you can revisit these films before doing the activities. Or you may wish to check them out before you come! There is also a selection of fun and interesting links relating to the subjects of the films for some extra inspiration...

RESOURCES - see box on right for these items to download. These include:                             

• Shorts for Wee Ones Film Info - images and information telling you about the films in the Shorts for Wee Ones programme.      
• Shorts for Wee Ones Activites - a message from the Discovery Arts Education team about the SWO activites           
• Machu Pichu Boy to Make  Download the character from Machu Pichu to colour in and decorate with your own pattern.                                                   
• Machu Pichu Backgrounds - you can print these out on A3 to make backgrounds for your characters.
• Snail 1 and Snail 2- Download 2 different snails from Bave Circus to colour in and decorate like you would decorate your house.
• Weather Symbols - Download the weather symbols, make your own, and tell us what the weather is like today.                
• Plus extra images and stills from the animations for inspiration and discussion.

Shorts for Wee Ones Competition: If you would like to send us any art work from your class, please take a photo and email it to discovery@dca.org.uk and we will enter it in a competition to be drawn at the end of the festival.
