Easter Hols Discovery Family Film Club

Wow! Discovery Family Film Club has been so popular since we launched it in early January, and we love seeing you all every fortnight down at the DCA Cinema and at the workshops in the activity room.

In April and May the new Discovery Family Film Club season is all about music. We're going to have some live music, some dancing, and even make some music ourselves!

Kick off the holidays on the 3rd April with The Princess and The Frog and a workshop with local jazz musician David Fimister and DFFC art worker Jordan. David will be playing his trumpet, and we'll be making 'inspired by music' art work.

On the last weekend of the holidays (17 April) look out for our special screening of Mad Hot Ballroom with a workshop beforehand where we'll learn how to dance the 'cha cha cha' with local dance teacher Elaine Douris.

But the fun doesn't end when the schools go back - on the 1st of May we have a Discovery Family Film Club special event Making Music at the Movies where we'll watch some great Scottish short films and make our very own soundtrack in the cinema. You can bring your own instrument (or anything that makes a good sound). Don't worry if you don't have an instrument to bring, you can come to the workshop beforehand and make a simple fun intrument to play.

We look forward to seeing all our regulars and some new faces a well over the Easter break. Have great holidays!

We're also screening classic children's film The Railway Children and have some great art workshops for young anes too relating to our current Alex Frost exhibition in the galleries.
