After the success of 2009’s Discovery Film Festival with nearly 6000 people coming to see films for and about young people, from across the globe, DCA announces the launch of Discovery Family Film Club which will run fortnightly from 9 January.

Discovery Family Film Club gives young audiences the chance to watch cinematic gems from around the world throughout the year, as well as giving you the chance to take part in free workshops and events.

The African Sunshine season includes Madagascar: Return to Africa, Kirikou and the Sorceress, based on an african folk tale, and African Animation for Children , a collection of new animations from African filmmakers. There will also be a free arts and crafts workshops on offer on the 23rd Jan, and storytelling from special guest Mara Menzies on the 6th of Feb.

Discovery Family Film Club films are only £2 for under 21’s and £4 for adults. Workshops/storytelling sessions are free with your cinema tickets, but places are limited so please book in advance.
