Our 2016 programme is out now!

#DiscoveryFilmFest

23 September 2016

It's that time of year again! We've announced the programme for Discovery Film Festival 2016, and it's shaping up to be a bumper year. With a fantastic crop of short films, UK and Scottish premieres and enchanting sneak previews, another beautiful exhibition in DCA galleries and some cracking creative activities to try your hand at, it's going to be an action-packed few weeks. Take a look at the programme online, get planning your visit and we'll see you from Sat 22 October - Sun 6 November!

Films
This year's festival gets off to a colourful start with Rainbow, a dazzling musical journey through Rajasthan. You'll be able to join us after the film for our opening reception and get creative with henna painting, stencilling and mandala-making. Elsewhere in the programme our much-loved shorts selections for Wee and Middle ones are back, there are three thrilling films for teens selected by our Discovery Young Ambassadors, and a whole lot more.

Exhibition
This year's specially-programmed exhibition in DCA Galleries features the work of artist Katy Dove (1970 - 2015). With video, drawings, paintings and prints, Katy's work creates meditative spaces through combinations of sound and image, and features contemplative responses to colour and rhythm.

Workshops and Activities
Every year we programme a range of creative activities inspired by the festival's films and artworks. This year you can do everything from printing with your fingers to making creatures out of rice: there are animation and filmmaking sessions and chances for you to create your own manga or superhero characters.

See you soon!
