    12-18 years old? Love film? This is your chance to get involved with Scotland's largest film festival for children and young people. The Discovery Film Festival is recruiting Young Ambassadors to work with the festival team and get involved with spreading the word and setting up special events. You'll get sneak peeks of the films and help select the shortlist for the Discovery Youth Screen Award (Scotland's national award for young filmmakers). During the festival you might find yourself introducing films, meeting special guests and even filming.   • Easter Hols Discovery Family Film Club

    Wow! Discovery Family Film Club has been so popular since we launched it in early January, and we love seeing you all every fortnight down at the DCA Cinema and at the workshops in the activity room. In April and May the new Discovery Family Film Club season is all about music. We're going to have some live music, some dancing, and even make some music ourselves!Kick off the holidays on the 3rd April with The Princess and The Frog and a workshop with local jazz musician David Fimister and DFFC art worker Jordan.     After the success of 2009’s Discovery Film Festival with nearly 6000 people coming to see films for and about young people, from across the globe, DCA announces the launch of Discovery Family Film Club which will run fortnightly from 9 January.   • Discovery Youth Screen Award Winner Announced!

    The Discovery Youth Screen Award 2009 winner was Backfire, produced by The Lensheads at The Learning Centre. This explosive short film was selected by an audience vote at a screening of the nominated films at the Discovery Film Festival on Sunday 1st Nov. In Backfire Frankie's life is turned upside down when someone asks him a favour that puts him on the wrong side of the law. What should he do?
